So, funny story, we both actually first attended law school before finally pursuing our real passion of event planning. That’s right, Christie has her J.D. while it only took Jen one year to realize law school wasn’t for her. Regardless, we bring something to the table you may not find, well let’s be honest, you won’t find with any other event planners. We can read, proof, and revise contracts, which comes in handy when dealing with so many vendors. It didn’t take either of us very long to realize that law school wasn’t going to be our dream come true, we both had been planning events for family, friends, and acquaintances since before undergrad and it didn’t stop during law school. So we decided to stop pretending to want to be lawyers, and to just follow our true passion for planning events.
We’re Idaho natives, and have been planning events in our hometown of Boise since high school and throughout college. We both also spent some time living in California during college, Christie in LA and Jen in San Diego, and got first hand experience with events and planning in both cities. Soon after grad school, Christie’s husband’s job moved them across the country to North Carolina. Turning the move into an opportunity, Christie gained a ton of experience working with several elite planning companies for the next three years. Meanwhile, Jen spent her time after law school helping plan small scale events and working with nonprofits, while also running different marketing campaigns for a local Boise restaurant. We made the most of our time apart by collaborating on a “HowTo” blog on everything from wedding planning to party planning and entertaining at home. Finally, after three long years, the timing was right. Christie called Jen up one day to announce she’d be moving home to Boise and we could finally launch our event planning business in our hometown. And the rest is history!
I am a Type A with a creative side – if that’s possible. I am a lover of organizing, planning every last detail, checklists, and timelines. I also love pinning, scouring blogs, and clipping from magazines to dream up unique designs and pulling everything together to execute an amazing event. I have been in the customer service industry in some form or another for over ten years. Additionally, when I first moved to North Carolina, I worked for an amazing woman at her event planning business who took me under her wing and showed me the ins and outs of the industry and running an event planning business and it solidified that this is what I’m meant to do and I’ve been doing it ever since. I am obsessed with my two kitties, Louis and Thor, I love going on adventures with my husband, I am a total foodie, and I find organizing my closet (and anything/everything in my house) a relaxing way to spend my time. I am excellent under pressure and a skilled problem solver, so let me deal with the logistics and stress of planning so you can enjoy your event. I am so excited to work with you and see what we can create together!
I am a free thinker. I’ve always been someone who loves thinking outside of the box and finding inspiration in everything. I love coming up with big ideas and I excel at being able to turn those ideas into a reality. I’m the kind of person who loves to be busy and enjoys new challenges. I am great at thinking on my feet and if there is ever a crisis, I am the one you want in your corner. I’m definitely a people person. I’ve worked in customer service for almost a decade, and the one thing I love about it is being able to meet new people and have something new to take away from a different person every day. I’m a lover of travel, good books, and the outdoors, with a pretty serious espresso addiction. The only thing I may almost love more than my cat, Indie, is an amazing cup of coffee – almost. I’ve always felt an event should be a reflection of you and all of the beautiful details that are important to you, and I’m so excited to meet you and come up with something unforgettable.
