Today’s post is the last in our “Why You Should Hire A Planner” series. I’m excited to share with you why you should hire a day of planner, not only because I know the benefits from a planner’s perspective, but from a bride’s perspective as well! Now, I understand that not every bride is going to have room in her budget to hire a full service planner or even a partial planner. But, a day of planner is something that every bride should seriously think about hiring and make room in her budget for.
Let me start by sharing my wedding story with you. It was STRESSFUL! Don’t get me wrong, the wedding turned out beautiful and it was an amazing day, but if I could do it all over I would have definitely hired a day of planner! I had my wedding at a resort on a lake in the mountains of Idaho. We decided to make it a weekend event so people could enjoy everything that the resort and the lake had to offer. While everyone was boating, jet skiing. horse back riding, and enjoying the spa I was unloading everything from the cars and setting up the ceremony and reception spaces. Thankfully, the groomsmen were awesome and were up on chairs and ladders helping me hang tulle and light strands from the ceiling and my bridesmaids and cousin helped with decor. But, it would have been such a fun and relaxing weekend if I had a day of planner and her team doing all of that for me!
The day of the wedding was crazy as well. It was 1 pm, just a few hours before the ceremony and my mom, my sister, my bridesmaid and I were in the reception space still setting up the candy buffet, laying out the seating cards, and decorating the space. We some how managed to get everything set up, get ourselves ready, and get to the ceremony on time. The morning after the wedding, my new husband and I celebrated by packing up the ceremony and reception spaces.
Does that sound like a fun way to spend your wedding weekend?? Your wedding day should be stress free (or as low stress as possible). You should be having fun with your fiance and your friends enjoying all the moments leading up to your big day.
A day of planner will step in and make sure all your vendors are where they need to be when they need to be there. She will run the rehearsal for you. She will have a team to coordinate the set up and breakdown of your ceremony and reception. She will take care of all the issues or last minute emergencies that pop up on the day of your wedding. You will be able to sip mimosas, relax with your bridesmaids and enjoy getting pampered before it’s time to walk down the aisle.
A day of planner may be more affordable than you think. A lot of planners customize their services based on what you specifically need for your wedding. So take my advice and seriously think about hiring a day of planner for your wedding day!
